| Re: outdoor cavies As for this thread, three piggies should put her foot down and bring the pigs into her room. Keep the bedding changed often, especially where the animals might pee, and keep the door closed. Her room is her space. Keep those four cats out of your room. I'll bet the allergies, fleas, and scratching was from the cats, not the other way around. Cats have alot of dander, and they get into all kinds of things on their ventures outside. Guinea pigs do not go anywhere, and they don't have dander. Cats may try to mark the pigs with their scent, by peeing on or around their cage. Keep those cats out and keep the cages and their area clean. Make sure you are not allergic to the bedding, keep it clean, keep a window open for some air, get a ionic filter, but keep the pigs inside. Show your parents you can do it! |

It will be a little hard to kick them out. But I will try. I don't want to move them in my room unless my parents agree though. I don't want to cause any problems with them. Hmm but I promise I will try my hardest to get them inside! I just hope it works! My mother is very strict and my Dad agrees with practically whatever she says.Quote:
Where can I get an ionic filter? |

| Re: outdoor cavies Check out the net for sources, things like the ionic breeze or the oreck something or other. They make the air smell clean. Talk to your dad and come up with a plan that will work and please everyone. Then talk it over with your mom while you guys are having dinner. |

say you want the best for your piggies, and if that means giving up your piggies, say you'll do it. then start crying. they will probably think you're so mature and responsible, that they will let you keep them. At least, my parents would be that way. |

I will have to talk to my mom and dad again. I don't think I will go with the dramatic approach seeing as I already have before with no luck. Maybe a presentation. With all the reasons why they should live inside. I might do a powerpoint. |

| Re: outdoor cavies Piglet and RubyPiggy, thanks for the reassurance. I appreciate it very much. In the thread I got banned on, I was in the process of trying to edit and explain my infamous post when I got banned. That was a complete shock. After that, the thread went off the deep end, but it wasn't anything posted from me, I assure you. But you guys should know that that whole thread was bogus and under false pretense. I may have been a little sarcastic or funny or whatever, but I was just trying to expose the thread for what it was, and never really got to explain what I'd posted. The thread was entitled "Aaaarrrrgggghhh" and was about an "accidental" breeding. |

| Re: outdoor cavies I just think it was allowed to happen. Remember Dumbo, where a fleet of storks came one night and delivered babies to all the circus animals? Let's just say they came again, and there were guinea pig babies there one morning. |

| Re: outdoor cavies Yeah, I just went back and read the original post and my reply to it. Let me clarify something about my post. Guinea pigs do NOT change sex. Also, I was not saying animals should be bred, I was saying that if there is to be breeding, it should be selective and responsible. I was also trying to say that only so many animals can be adopted and saved, so that selective and responsible fostering should be practiced as well. That poster never followed up on the thread to let us know what happened. |

| Re: outdoor cavies Thanks, three piggies! Good luck with your folks! Maybe if they read this thread, they might loosen up the reigns abit. In any case, if you're sure to change the bedding every three or four days, you won't smell a thing in your room except the smell of fresh wood shavings. I use pine shavings and it smells nice and the piggies love it, even chew on some of it. And it makes the car smell really nice also. It's made by Pestell, and a really big bag is only 7 bucks! It's like a breath of fresh air. |

I started making a power point presentation last night about why my piggies should live inside. I will keep you updated on how it goes! |

Keep the bedding changed often, especially where the animals might pee, and keep the door closed. Her room is her space. OK...I have to add my 2 cents. I do not know how old three_piggies is, but it appears she is still under 18. If that is the case, she really has no grounds for putting her foot down. This is her PARENT'S house and they make the rules. I do not think that will solve anything. My daughter is still young but if she ever came to me and PUT HER FOOT DOWN, I'd put my foot somewhere else. There is no way MY child would get away with that. I think threee_piggies is going about this the right way. She is showing them how responsible she can be. She has already gottenher dad on her side. Try printing off some of the posts from this site and from Guinea Lynx to show how safe it is to have in the house. Keep up the good work. You'll get her on your side eventually. |

| Re: outdoor cavies Ya I am under 18 , I am only 15. 'Putting my foot down' wouldn't have been the best thing to do at this time (or really any time) (although I would have liked to). Because they are so against the piggies living inside, and I don't want to get in trouble. But if they (parents) hadn't actually said th |
