Re: Wallmart selling Guinea pigs!

I was wondering because I knew Wal-Mart didn't sell pigs. I thought maybe they were getting into selling pigs. They sold hamsters years ago but finally got out of that. Maybe they will at some point stop selling fish.

I already knew that Meijer's sold pigs from others on the forum. Meijers is a retail and grocery chain in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and Michigan.

They have stopped selling fish here, thank goodness. Those poor overcrowded fish in those filthy tanks!

Re: Wallmart selling Guinea pigs!

I'm still furious I just want to help the piggies but I can't buy them it's so hard but I already have to beautiful piggers in mind and I will not take a home away from them or any other piggies and then condemn another to a life of misery It's so hard .

Re: Wallmart selling Guinea pigs!

I know it's hard to see the pigs in those situations. As much as it's painful and tears at our heart strings, if you bought those pigs, Meijers would just replace them with more and the situation would continue. You wouldn't be solving anything.

Just always remember to look at the larger picture behind the smaller one. That seems to be what you are doing and I commend you for that.

Re: Wallmart selling Guinea pigs!

True that's what I am doing same with dogs and cats I'm thinking of the millions of animals abused, killed and neglected every single year it makes me want to do more and it keeps me from stopping and just quitting, In my mind I know I can help some how I just havn't figured it out yet I could report them if the pigs are sick right I think I have a date with those pigs and if their sick with that manager .

To me I'm a fighter my heart's a lighter, they are the fluid that keeps me going.

They are the millions of animals abused and neglected every year it's what keeps me going and to keep trying to do make a difference for those who can't speak for themselves.

Re: Wallmart selling Guinea pigs!

Woah I sound pretty noble eh? I did a report on why you should adopt from shelters rather purchase from breeders for school and I got an A+ and my teacher said I was noble but in a good way. But this site more then anything opened my eyes even more then anything has another thing was animal cops. Now I will never buy from a breeder or petstore. My report was great and I actually had people come up to me and say I did a good job it was shocking but I enjoyed it and hopefully I opened a lot of eyes. But next time it comes to the time for a report I have plenty more info to put into it I wrote quite a lot to I wasn't able to read it all i had to cut some things short and even stay after school to finish it. I didn't know all this I just knew a few things that there's millions of animals out there neglected and abused but now I know that breeders aren't the only thing to avoid and that I was talking about cats and dogs now I speak for all animals. All animals deserve a happy and fun life. I just need to get over stage fright I get really panicky when I have to speak out in front of a crowd. I will fight for those who cannot speak for themselves till I collapse. I will fight for them no matter what anyone tells me I will fight for them. Wow I ramble a lot and I am pretty noble and fierce about this topic heh .

I'm glad it's not Wal-Mart but it's still terrible that this Meijers place is selling them. What morons come up with these stupid ideas?

Re: Wallmart selling Guinea pigs!

Oh wow, that sounds horrible . I thought selling fish(or whatever live ones were still in there) was bad enough! They shouldn't be selling animals there, you should ask who takes care of them and have a nice long chat with that person(or people).

Re: Wallmart selling Guinea pigs!

Meijer is a popular Wal-Mart type chain in Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky. I'm embarrassed to say we got our second piggie from there before I found this site. I did know enough, though to take her to a vet right away for a check-up and sexing, since we wanted a companion for our male. Luckily she was fine and our male is now neutered.
