And why are we trying to use logic and common sense to convince somebody of the right thing, if all they seem to want to do is stomp their feet and yell "But I wanna!" ?

She should visit a rescue, and just see WHY piggers shouldn't be bred...

Anyone can create their own forums on the internet these days, kids or adults. I personally wouldn't trust a forum that has a child (especially one that wants to breed their pigs) as the owner/administrator.

On this forum, the owner/admin is an adult. The mods are adults.

PM knows a lot about the torture part as we put her though all kinds of torture when we made her a mod. Ha ha!!

I actually just found a 5 week old boy to adopt today (from another cavy owner who rescued his mommy -- after the original owner dumped her, because she was pregnant! )

Yes like Ly said sollyrules created the forum herself, I only visit it to post in the threads where she posts things I don't agree with, I am going to stop visiting as the forum as I'm not enjoying it there, and have much more worthy forums I could go ot

Masher, you've acted intelligently & responsibly and you gave it your best shot. Some people are just bound & determined to shoot themselves in the foot. Some day Sollyrules may reach your level of maturity...but I doubt it.

I love the bit on the other forum where Sollyrules says her friend that owns the female has 15 pigs, doesn't want/can't fit anymore so when the babies are born any extras will be given away/sold to a pet shop.

Obviously we are dealing with one of the worst sorts of breeders, two actually sine Sollyrules sees no problem with it.

She will "love these babies more then a rescue" yet is willing to dump them at a petshop where anyone can buy them? This is only done by breeders who care nothing about the creatures they create. They do not care if they live, die, are neglected, bred, or worse. There are actually sickos out there that will buy a petstore animal, keep it until the novelty wears off, and then torture it to death. Then there are the reptile owners that would love some young guinea pigs to feed to their snakes.

Sollyrules doesn't care though. She has made it quite clear that she;

• is selfish
• will breed even though she may not be allowed to keep any of the babies
• will breed despite the fact that there are loads of homeless GPs in her area
• will breed for no purpose other then to create more animals
• will breed her male to a female owned by a person who already has too many animals
• will allow said breeder to sell the babies to a petstore. Thus neither she or the breeder care if the animals become snake food

There is no reasoning with someone like this as they are the major cause of overpopulation. We are getting a view into the mind of the very problem we are trying to alleviate; an uncaring, unfeeling, byb/petstore breeder.

From her posts, it appears as though Sorryrules is very young and maybe even a minor. Given that, I'm not sure what upsets me the most: that her parents are unaware or indifferent to the fact that she treats these precious living beings as disposable playthings unworthy of ethical care and treatment or the fact that as a young woman this could be just the beginning of years and years of unethical and improper care of multiple animals. What a tragedy.

Add to this she will soon get bored of breeding and pester her family for a puppy or a pony. I especially like her other opinion that no pet shop pigs in England come from breeder mills. That was the funniest thing I've read all day.

I can't give you her age but I can say she is very young and is a minor. Way too young to even consider breeding.

*Sigh* - piggies are just living dollies to such people. Why are kids fascinated by making little baby animals and ignoring the fact that they cannot care for them? And why do their parents let them? Ggrrrrrr. No doubt they have no idea what they are doing. Lets hope and pray that the sow isn't over the age limit for breeding if it's her first time and that she isn't being back bred, and that they know not to leave the boar in for the birth because she will get pregnant right away again, and lets hope neither one has the genes that produce lethal pigs. This is exactly why children shouldn't make decisions or be responsible for animals. They can't even look after themselves.
