This so called "Expert" at expert village talks about care of guinea pigs and advertises petstore cages, putting Vitamin C sirop in their water and I noted a whole lot of other mistakes. It just makes me angry that such people can call themself expert when even I, only having guinea pigs for a year know things more accurate then she does. Perhaps Teresa or one of the other moderators could make such videos for expert village but then with accurate information! How to Care for a Guinea Pig: Tips & Techniques for Pet Owners: Free video clips on ExpertVillage.com Last edited by Fay : 03-16-07 at 06:25 am.

Re: Tss.. So Called "Expert" *BLEEP!* Ugh. I'm going to drop her an email. "The basic rule of thumb is about 10 square inches per adult guinea pig." Wrong!

Re: Tss.. So Called "Expert" And did you notice in the one on bathing, how she kept annoying that poor pigger? She kept rubbing it's bottom and it kept jumping away, but she just kept on.

Re: Tss.. So Called "Expert" I noticed that too. I, too, have only had my pigs for about a year and already know more than that "expert".

Re: Tss.. So Called "Expert" It said 100 square inches, what is that equal too? I didn't watch it all, only the housing part.

| Re: Tss.. So Called "Expert" 100 square inches is 10 inches by 10 inches. Aren't piggers at least 10 inches long? I know mine can be more when they decide to stretch out. 1 grid by 1 grid would be 196 square inches almost 2x her recommended size. My cage is 2x4 in the main area and I think that is too small. edited to add: Oh my god did you see this quote: "They take one mate for life, ...." HUH??? | Re: Tss.. So Called "Expert" By the way, I went back and marked most of those videos as useless or nothing new. Just look below and to the right of the video for the "stars" and give it a rating. Maybe if they get a bunch of "useless" ratings, they might re-evaluate the info. edited to add: How funny, when I went to go back at rate the last video, it prompted me to sign in. It let me rate the rest of them. |

Re: Tss.. So Called "Expert" I did the same. I didn't rate all of them, but the ones I did I put as "useless". I would think if they got enough of those votes, they would take them down.

Re: Tss.. So Called "Expert" Yeah, she was no expert about guinea pigs! 10 x 10?! Yeah, right! That's not even big enough for a smaller baby. She needs to join this forum, and actually learn some stuff about guineas! I saw that too, where she was bothering the poor piggy, and I think the carrier was too small as well.

Re: Tss.. So Called "Expert" I think the only good part of the 'experts' videos was the breeding one. She recommended adoption rather than breeding.
