They are selling live hermit crabs in winter, and they are packed in cardboard boxes and newspaper. They have to be reported. I wish I had an eBay account to report them, but I don't.

While Ebay does allow the sale of live fish and some snails (with the proper shipping licenses) they apparently do not allow crabs.

I can't understand why this person hasn't been banned from ebay. I'm off to report him. I'm fuming!!

It looks likes selling crabs is allowed. There are loads of people doing it eBay – Crabs, Snails Algae Eaters, Fish, Turtles Frogs and Pet Supplies items on eBay.com. Find IT on eBay.

So ebay will not allow the sale of sex toys and certain types of heavy metal music yet they allow the sale of live animals and real fur!!

Their page about what live animals they allow the sale of says differently Animals and Wildlife Products

Live Animals: Other than the exceptions noted here, eBay does not allow sales of live animals or pets on eBay. eBay allows sales of tropical fish and domestic (i.e. not exotic) aquatic snails, provided the seller has the proper Federal (APHIS PPQ) - see Form 526 info below) and/or State permit(s) that allows for movement across State lines (and/or for importation into the U. S.), and provided that the seller guarantees in the listing that the animals will be packaged safely, and shipped via next day delivery.

The fact that all of their old listing were pulled tells me that Ebay does not allow the sales of crabs or that the seller does not have the right permits.

^^I'm pleased to hear that. Thanks for looking that up Voodoo Joint, I should have done that myself but I was in a hurry.

Seeing as crabs are not allowed please can everyone who reads this report all the sellers who are selling crabs. A small effort like this could save these poor animals from a lot of suffering.

Snails & Slugs:For questions concerning any movement of live snails, consult USDA's Web page Agricultural Permits for Snails and Slugs. eBay also allows sales of lobsters, crabs and other similar items that are live when sold but intended for human consumption, as well as crickets and worms used as bait or feeder food for pets. All live herbivorous insects other than crickets require a Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) Form 526 permit for importation or movement across state lines. Consult the APHIS Permit Services Web site for instructions on obtaining and filing PPQ Form 526.


But that reads to me like live crabs you are going to eat. Ewww in itself.
