UGG!My friend wants to breed guinea pigs

Well my friend wants to breed her guinea pig.
Fistt off her mom is a backyard breeder and the live out side with no cage no protection from the elements. She says they go into the crawl space in the winter. We are in the middle of a bloody cold snap. i'm suprised that they have'nt been frozen to death yet. Also when ever i tell her that her guinea pigs should go insde, so they will be save frome bad things. She will say that they are fine, and -inserts word here- at me all day. Her cavies were almost killed by a cat, snake, and dog before. That should be a huge wake-up call for them. She also says that they don't go inside because their doggy (it's a mini poodle) will attack it. Come on CC cages should withstand an annoying dog.

This is kinda rant-ish but i need a bit of info to send to her. She should have (i sent to her) the pages from CavySprit and GL.

Does anybody have anything else i could send to her?

That is terrible.. Is it possible for you to call the spca?

About the poodle, I have a poodle along with a whole lot of other dogs, and there is no way they would do anything to the pigs if the cage was off the ground, and enclosed..

Huh?No cage? Why don't they just run over or get plucked up by an animal within a couple of days?
Alert somebody.Since they're your friend it will be VERY hard,I have had that experience (but thankfully they are getting much better without me having to call the local animal shelter).Keep bugging her for a while and if it goes completely unheeded, write a letter, call them, visit, whatever.
It's not a wasted effort,please!

Re: UGG!My friend wants to breed guinea pigs

I accually will be visting soon and will be takong pictures of the 'home'. They also might be moving off the island soon and could leave the guinea pig at the house if it's too far away. Now i will bug her about it if she dosen't fix it soon the spca will be at her house. In Canada can someone get arrested for that?

Now i don't think i clarified this but they only have one guinea pig but it came from many back breedings. She has pictures.
