| Re: Poor Youtube Pigs. No place to play or hide was what I saw. I have dial up so videos are strained at best. She claimed $60 for pigs and cage, and I paid less! $15 cubes, $15 coroplast, $10 cover, and $7.50 for the piggies at the shelter means that I paid $47.50 for all, and I had left overs for the hay rack and gained play tubes for free in the process. Wish I could add to your posts, that is really too small for them except maybe a ride to the vet. Cant seem to sign up so I can comment to her, but some people will never change! Still trying to sign up. That cage is smaller than the one at the shelter where my cavies came from. I sent her a personal message! I told her a lot about the cages I found here and the research I did. Hope she makes some changes, those poor pigs! |

| Re: Poor Youtube Pigs. That talking one was horrible. I posted what I thought the pig would be saying living in a cage like that. |

I agree! Her cage is about a third of my 2X3 C&C cage (which I need to make bigger by the way). I really hate that she is feeding seed food AND she has treat sticks to make things better ). |

| Re: Poor Youtube Pigs. If she truly felt that her cage was big enough for her two pigs, then why ask for donations for a bigger cage? The reason why her pigs are happy in a small cage is because they've never known anything else, and guinea pigs are happy animals and will popcorn whenever they feel like it. I'm sure that once she gets a bigger cage, they'll popcorn and run around even more. She probably "researched" for years about guinea pigs on petstore sites, trying to see what kind of cage she could buy. Just because her "friend's" guinea pigs are in far smaller cages doesn't mean that it's right, it means that more ignorance has prevailed. If she didn't have the money to make the appropriate upgrades to a cage that's the right size, it definitely means that she doesn't have the funds to take them to the vet should they need it. I think it's fine for young people to own guinea pigs, but it should be a lesson for them on how to keep emergency funds, monthly expenses etc. I hope she learns from this experience, as asking for money on YouTube isn't the greatest way to go. |
