There are plenty of homeless animals here and there are still kill shelters (sadly) here in BC too.
Like others have said, There are quite a bunch for adoption you just don't know about it yet, in SASK and BC you just need to find out about a rescue(s) near you, or one that is willing to transport, a lot of rescue groups here work very hard to get the little guys to there new homes.
