Mills in Australia? Just a quick question, and I don't really want to cause a great debate over this. I've heard the term 'mills' and I understand what it means. I was just curious if anybody was aware of this occuring in Australia? Thanks in advance.

Re: Mills in Australia? I'm sure it happens all over the world, if you can buy guinea pigs in the petshops there, then there will be breeder mills , backyard breeders etc.

Re: Mills in Australia? As long as there are pet shops selling animals there are always mills. As long as there is the demand for that ''cute little puppy in the window'' there will always be a supplier of these animals and Australia is no exception. The mill industry is very much alive here. Unless there is legislation deeming pet shops no longer sell animals, it won't stop. Currently the RSPCA and animal rights groups are making improvements but there is no current ban to date. Here are some links to ''puppy farm'' stories in Australia that occured in Victoria also has legislative info: Puppy Farms Dog Breeding - Dogs Life - Dogs, Health, Problems, Training, Breeders Australia - DOGS LIFE ARTICLES Information on the mill industry in Australia: Say No To Animals In Pet Shops - Put A Stop To Puppy Farms and Mass Breeding PUPPY
