Hartz.. Have you heard of this?

Well i was doing some reading, and i found out that Hartz Products like flea collars or flea, ear mite medacation, can KILL your cats or dogs. has anyone heard of it? I'ts darn right true. Here is the website HartzVictims.org.

Here is a qoute i took off of the 'urgent' story list:
Quote:
For privacy reasons, I can't say how I know what I know, but I know that the stories told on this site are by no means an exageration. Each and every story is an horrific series of true events, and I want to say I'm sorry to each and every one who has had this tragic and horrible experience with the Hartz products and to each Hartz consumer who was lied to by the company, and you were all lied to. Hartz knows exactly whats going on with their products, ALL OF THEIR PRODUCTS. Hartz puts products out on the market without proper testing. They even lie to their employees about whats going on. Toys that fall apart and choke beloved pets, some have had to have surgery and long periods of recovery. They don't care. Animals that have been severely burned, hospitalized for days with twitching, convulsions, or worse. They (Hartz) laugh and make jokes about the stories they hear within the company about animals that have suffered at their hands. They find a way to blame the consumers for what happenned to their pet, and tell each other how stupid the consumers are. They (Hartz) are never at fault. They hurry to get their products on the shelves to make their profit, without sufficient testing, which is fine if you weren't dealing with insecticides, but they are. These products are tested on a handful of cats and dogs and whatever reactions they have, they cover it up in order to sell it. They lie to consumers, and they lie to the EPA. All the reactions are toned down by the time they are reported to the EPA, which is why its better to report directly to the EPA and tell them what happenned with your pet. Believe me, talking to Hartz is a waste of time. Consumers are never taken seriously, no matter what they tell you. To them its just another story. Their own employees won't use the products on their pets, no matter what they tell you. They use Frontline on their pets, or some other vet product. Take it from someone who knows, STAY AWAY FROM ALL HARTZ PRODUCTS!!!
Sounds like she\he works there.

If you know anything please replie fast.

Re: Hartz.. Have you heard of this?

Yes, I have heard of it. Hartz does exhist all over the world, and unfortunately it's one of the worst products on the storeshelves. I was the first on here to actually come across that website, and I think that everyone should be aware of the conciquences of this companies products.

Mods, I think we should have a whole forum (or something like it) dedicated to teaching people the problems with some chain companies and their products like Hartz. I think that would be great!

Re: Hartz.. Have you heard of this?

That is so terrible, why don't they just take HARTZ products off the shelves if it's killing animals, that is what they do with human medicine products, isn't it. Whoever started that company should . . . (inapropriate and bad phrase) This has to stop. I am glad my vets office is educated and told us not to use HARTZ ever. I think we use frontline plus. Having 4 cats and 3 dogs, we haven't noticed any problems at all and I am so glad after reading those stories. That makes me so mad there are actually people in the world who would literaly kill to get what they want, money. I hope HARTZ pays for this, pays real big $$$.

Re: Hartz.. Have you heard of this?

We have so many animals come to the hospital with toxicity from either Hartz or Biospot products. It is horrible, they go into seizures that last for days. People always accuse us of telling them not to use otc flea treatments because we don't want to lose money. I wish we could tell them that if financial gain was the issue, we would be recomending that crap. It costs far more to have an animal hospitalized in icu for days.

The forum staff is well aware of that site and what Hartz products can do. I also want to let everyone know that Hartz owns 8-in-1 products as well.

Re: Hartz.. Have you heard of this?

I hadn't heard of that website, nor of pets dying, but I figured out Hartz was crapt long ago. I had a dog that everytime we would put a hartz flea collar on her, would get nauseated, vomiting, and would lay around as if she was drugged nearly into sedation. The first time around we didn't catch on to it being the collar, but the second time around I finally put two and two together. I don't know why they haven't been removed from the shelves either.

Re: Hartz.. Have you heard of this?

If you read the quote i have, it seems like they know it's happening. All of their products should be pulled of the shelves. I [s]Might[/s] talk to the QF's store manager (happens to be a family friend) and get them to pull it off the shleves. I think he will listen.

Re: Hartz.. Have you heard of this?

Many, have been aware of this for years. YEARS ago when I was a vet tech it was common knowledge , at least in our clinic, that Hartz products could kill, and quickly. One client had a puppy that they used the stuff on ..didn't make it to the clinic. I personally helped treat a cat, that was already elderly..but not in bad health. Hartz sent her into kidney failure. She made it..but barely, and obviously, with alot of permanent damage. I will NEVER use..and try to tell other people not to..but there are always those that haven't seen it "happen"..so won't take others word for it.
