Wonderful Petstore Experience

OCCH used to hold adoption days in Petsmart, but not for a number of years now. We now do them in a Petstore that does not sell any animals of any kind. Therefore, no conflict of interest.

Every time I go into Petsmart ( uughh) and get dog food, pig supplies etc. I always look at the guinea pigs and feel sorry for them and imagine what their life is probably going to be like. When I got my first hamster and then guinea pig I never knew that there where rescues. Then again I probably would've wanted a baby anyways. Now that I know how these animals are kept I almost cry when I go in there.

The best way to stop it is to NOT shop there. There are so many stores that do not sell pets but still pet supplies that we need to be supporting. Everyone from Target to small mom and pop stores in rural areas. It would be simple but effective way to say your not going to take it anymore.

That is what I do. If I have to I even order online. If you have a town large enough for a Petsmart, then you have plenty of other options I'm sure.
