Writing letters

I've been reading the thread about the Dutch online store with it's tiny cages, and I'm really pleased that they are starting to listen and change their ways.

It's made me think about how we can all help animals, by making an effort to reach out and educate people.

I know many people on here already do loads to help animals, and to teach people how to properly care for the piggies and other pets, but I thought if I started a thread about it more people might be encouraged to stand up for what they believe in.

I started my letter writing campaign some time ago, here are some of the things I've done so far:

Written to pet shops asking them not to stock their smallest cages/ electric shock collars/ choke chains etc.
Written to MPs and newspapers about Breed Specific Legislation
Signed up to IFAW and WWF online campaigns - they send you emails when they have a current campaign - giving you details of who to write to over certain issues.

Maybe if lots more people started writing to/ emailing these places then they would realise they will lose customers if they don't get their act together. Your local petshop might ignore one letter, but if they received 10, 50 even 100 letters they might feel they have to do something.

Just an idea, what does everybody think?
