Good News and Update

This year is the 100th Pumpkin Show and it is the first chance I have had to test the Ordinance I wrote and had passed in March banning pets as prizes.

Day one of the show and the Police told the person(s) who were giving away the bunnies (see links below for the full story leading up to this) that they were not allowed to be here anymore. The people were quite upset. Then the police went with me and made them house the bunnies differently because they had 28 bunnies in a very small hutch and NO water!!.....

Even better is the fact that besides myself and the humane officer, regular citizens have been stopping by to tell them that they are not allowed to be here anymore either. So far it is working out well.

I suspect they are going to try to "sell" the bunnies now and try to get around the ordinance. Like win the game and "buy" a bunny for a dollar or something like that. Of course I wrote that into the ordinance as well so they are not allowed but I bet they give it a try.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who helped by writing letters/emails in support of this last year, your efforts have been successful!!
