Cavy Shows in the Northeast I would like to know if there are any places in Connecticut or Massachusetts where people show their Cavies. I am a new member, have gotten two piggies recently and would like to get out to see other piggies and enthusiasts.

Re: Cavy Shows in the Northeast You might want to look into finding "pignics" instead then. Shows are mostly associatied with breeders, which you will soon learn, do not classify under the type of "piggie enthuasiasts" you're probably looking for.

Re: Cavy Shows in the Northeast Your best bet is to plan or look for postings about "pignics". Basically, that would be an informal gathering of cavy lovers who get together to hang out with each other and their pigs in a relaxed environment. There are frequently members who try to have this kind of get together, and they can be a lot of fun. The forum is anti-formal showing. Showing tends to be geared primarily towards breeders and creating more animals just to perfect the look of the breed types rather than advocating adoption and getting animals out of the shelters and rescues.

Re: Cavy Shows in the Northeast Sorry for the confusion. I'm in no way interested in breeders. The replies I received led me in a better directions which is pignics. I go from there. Thanks

Re: Cavy Shows in the Northeast We have quite a few members in the Connecticut and Massachusetts area. Hopefully one or more of them will respond, and you can work something out. Good luck.

Re: Cavy Shows in the Northeast OK, before we scare off the very well intentioned new forum member, we should probably stop. Needless to say, we're all a bit freakish about our pigs. If you and your pigs ever come down South, drop in. We'll have a mini-pignic for you.

Re: Cavy Shows in the Northeast You freaks don't scare me. I'm well on my way to freakdom. Working at a Rescue is a great idea. There is a big one in Durham Connecticut.
