No one ever came close to implying anything you are doing is illegal. And even if it were illegal, you still wouldn't have to justify your actions to us.

The reality is, you hold yourself up as a role model to many as a great example of a responsible breeder. You came here preaching about it. You smack down dissenters and challengers to such practices on your forum. No problem. That's your right. But here, we get to discuss them openly.

Now you are introducing a new point as if it has any bearing on the conversation--SPCA and their standards and objectives. I would never expect you not to pass SPCA standards with flying colors. It takes extremely horrible conditions for them even think about seizure cases. No one ever implied that was the case with you.

I see you chose to skip right over the entire issue of responsible breeding and breeding for health. I think we can put that to bed as bull.

Glad to see you discussed the real reason you and just about everyone else shows and breeds pigs. It's the social satisfaction and fulfillment. It's fun going to the shows and participating in that social structure.

Sorry, MrsHauler, but you did start this thread. All I did as a good forum administrator should, is split it off from the original introduction thread, as it is an entirely different topic and move it to the appropriate forum. You most certainly DID come on to a rescue forum and post about your breeding philosophy and experience.

Now, if you want to continue to try to pitch that Cavy Compendium is an 'all viewpoints are accepted here' kind of forum. Great. But, I think you might as well give it up and call it a breeder forum.

The fact that while you enjoy full rank and privilege on my forum, and I do not, as of yesterday was it? on yours, seems rather indicative of our respective philosophies and principles. In fact, the categorical denying of certain forum privileges of many GuineaPigCages forum members reminds me of the old CG banning days.

If you look back, no one is banned. Some members have been "cavycaged" which means they are still allowed to participate in the forum and post, it just needs to be approved by a moderator or admin first.

Why don't you explain to everyone what that email says, which specifically states why they can't post? Could it be that you just want to present your own skewed version of things?

Well that is werid because I joined the cavy compendium a few days ago, I only really posted to a few threads, never started any troble, was not warned by a mod that I started any troble on any of my posts, but yet some of my privledges were suspended. I could not PM anyone or have a profile on cavy compendium, but I could post. I have decided cavy compendium is not worth my time. My time is more valuable here in cavy cages.

Didn't you know? Cavy compendium admin never lets you know when you get demoted or banned. At least that's what stipma told me. Everyone associated with here has been demoted. I was banned, but it got lifted.

Honestly jackie, it was a concern that you were coming over with the intention of causing problems. We can never tell what the true intentions are of people and since you were a member here first some mods decided to be proactive perhaps prematurely in your case and I believe your account has been reset as well.

Susan, basically teresa's email stated that because a password was shared between two friends that the account pms have been deleted and it can only be assumed that they wanted to share pm's or post as each other. Teresa also said that she will only reinstate them when an explanation is given and they no longer have pm priviliges.

Teresa also got it wrong, stimpa logged in as tweety because tweety had to go out and didn't have time to copy and paste the pms she wanted to share. However since no posts were made by stipma under tweety's name and there was no rule in place that stated this couldn't be done it seems rather immature.

So, the pigs in your shed are not your "pets", they are a means to your social outlit. That is why their deaths don't seem to matter, 2 breeding stock sows die, life moves on, a single pig dies in a grid not more C&C cages, (that it sounds like, was not a standard size, but even if it was, it was a very isolated incident. A single pig dies because of a freak accident, no more floor time.

My understanding is, from the poll in Cavy chat, those who responded own at least 1235 pigs. More people have had other pigs, but not at the same time, others have aquired more pigs, but can't up their numbers. Many people have not responded to the poll.

Now, in cage chat, people have been asked what kind of cage they have. Granted it may not be the same people answering, but 71% have C&C cages!

So, with almost a 1000 pigs in the polls housed in C&C's, and many many many more that are unreported, (at least twice that many I would think, probably 5-10,000 over all these years) how many deaths have been caused by these cages that are not reported "through a friend of a friend"? I would think, if a site recommended a cage, and it killed the average persons pig, they would want to warn people!

So, one pet pig, reported dying in the grids, which you even never witnessed, = enough reason to advise people against them for their beloved pets.

One pig dying during floor time, = enough reason to advise people to deprive their pigs of the fun exploring brings and benifits of exercise.

But, the dead sows from pregnancy, that is ok, because they are a means to your entertainment, not beloved pets! Yeah, that certainly is understandable! Thanks for clearing that up!

I, too, have had my privileges to do basic things like put a website in my profile, put an avatar beside my name, and send PMs suspended on the Compendium. I have yet to be given any answer why exactly this happened, as I have done nothing against the rules on the Compendium. I have posted exclusively about lethals there, for a grand total of 7 posts, yet it appears someone does not wish me to participate. That's fine; I mean, I was only there to help some people out with their guinea pigs. I made the mistake of assuming that the administrators would want a well-behaved member who has extensive experience with lethals, and has done enormous amounts of research. I obviously was incorrect to assume that a forum that prides itself on its neutrality would accept plain old knowledge offered neutrally and helpfully.

Please, Cavy Compendium staff, read the new section of the Other Forums rules thread, called "Forum Wars". And stipma and tweetypie, go ahead and email Teresa back about your passwords already.

Oh, I got an email from stipma. I was told in the email that because I was a member of this forum, and since this forum that frantical views on things, that I cannot have the same privledges (which ment no profile or PMing). Then he said he did not want to judge me. But I had already felt judged. They took my privledges away when I was not even warned by a mod that I had did something wrong! I never did anything wrong.

I wrote an email back asking why I could not be neutral? And then I said I understand that he does not want me to be apart of his forum. I never got a reply back. So, I guess my impressions were right.

However we realize that we are human and have busy full lives and sometimes something distracts us and we forget.

That was our concern with you. But we gave you guys the chance to show us how you could behave. It became obvious that some could and some couldn't. Have you personally, MrsHauler, had any reduction in privileges here due to being a member of the Compendium?

I have the email from stipma if you want to see it. She clearly told me you just don't notify people, never have.
