Guinea pig Breeding and abuse continues...

A few months ago I posted on here regarding a backyard breeders house I visited. http://www.cavycages.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11935

Upon ringing the RSPCA and hearing the issue had been dealt with I assumed I had done a good job and it was fine. Well months later ive now learnt the RSPCA did nothing. They lied. Over 25 guinea pigs are now dead. The woman has now aquired another guinea pig she has given to her son for his birthday. Whats is going to be its fate?

The RSPCA apparently thought I was not 18 years of age. I rang them 10 times and reported this case begging them, to take the guinea pigs away, they said they had. Maybe it was just to make me stop annoying them I dont know. Now due to their deception, 25 lives are lost. An inspector even called me and said the issue was fixed and the guinea pigs were fine. All lies.

I really dont know what to do now. Do I ring again and report the mis treatment of this guinea pig and yet again be lied to? Do I report it again and again and end up being ignored?

Re: Guinea pig Breeding and abuse continues...

How do you know the 25 are dead, and can you confirm this?

Can you go in, in person and speak to someone? If they think you are 12 over the phone, more phonecalls are not going to help.

Make out a letter too, stating what you have just said here with a few more details, and give it to them during any sort of meeting with an inspector.

That just plain sucks!

What a frustration! Is there any agency that oversees the RSPCA that you could escalate to? That would be my suggestion.

That's annoying! Could you ask a friend of family member to call? Maybe the SPCA would listen to them.

Sounds like at a minimum I would write some letters to editors of local papers--also let the society know you plan to do that.

HI Fluffball,

here's a link to the NSW department of Primary Industries and fisheries. They actually have about 10 times the inspectors that the rspca does and they act quick smart!
NSW Department of Primary Industries

I now report most of my cases to them as I've have very very similar responses the rspca with cases I've reported. It's extremely frustrating.

Re: Guinea pig Breeding and abuse continues...

Thankyou all,

I emailed the RSPCA twice once saying I was unhappy with the treatment and disregard of action regarding this case I recieved and another one saying I am going to the local newspaper if they do not reply.

So far no one has replied. I emailed the inspectors office and wrote a letter and sent it in the mail. I know that at least 15 are dead I havent seen the bodies but I have seen where they are buried.

Will email the NSW department of primary industries and see if they will listen to me. Ill post again if they reply.
