I think I may have mentioned that my boyfriends sister got her 9 year old a GP not too long ago...maybe a month? Well after showing her CC and GL and printing out the care pamphlet guess what? Little petstore pig who ate food with seeds, (after I offered her some Oxbow) alphalfa hay,lived in a small crappy cage, and has been sneezing for a few days now dies today. I called it the day she brought it home from the petstore.

There are two very sad things with the picture. One is that his sis had full access to a wealth of information and chose not to even glance at it, and two, her daughter is "sick of her pets dying and doesnt want to get anymore". I think this is horrible for a child that wants to learn about animals and have a pet be so discouraged by a parent that doesnt give a ! The pig didnt just "die" it wasent taken care of properly and had a URI that was not noticed...except by my BF when he was over there...(he told me she was sneezing a ton but sis didnt care) and wasent taken to the vet. I just want to scream at her!

That's sad. Some people just prefer to live in ignorance and denial. I really don't get it.

And my boyfriend doesnt quite understand why I get so upset. He just says dont worry about it because I take care of my pigs correctly...but I do because what happened in that situation could have easily been prevented.

That is sad! Makes you reallly mad though,eh? I mean you tried to help,and had she accepeted the pig probably wouldn't have died!

What is sad is that your boyfriends sister got offerd the help and never took it. There is no point. Poor thing anouther life wasted even if it is just an animal I seem to be constantly told.
