| Browsing through petfinder.com just to see what piggies may be out there (we are looking for another female for our single lone piggie). Well the only rescue that has any in my area has a statment in their little blurb about the piggies. I will copy and paste it at the end of my post . My question is this. Am I just being to picky and should not be upset that they act like they only live for two months? I cannot understand how five years can be a "short life span"? I understand that Chinchillas and cats can live up to 20 years or so, birds even longer but most dogs only make it to maybe 7 or 9 years old. Just wondering what evey one elses two cents worth would be. Guinea pigs life span is fairly short therefore they make good short term pets. If you are interested in adopting a small friend that will not require many years of commitment please contact PIE/Friendz for Life Sanctuary at (321) 951-3042 or email at info@friendz4life.org. Jenie |

You should email the person and let them know how you feel. |

| Re: Am I Just Being to Picky?? Actually I just emailed them a very nice email asking if they realized that some people might take it that they will die within a year or so. Just looking at the various animals they have, I imagine that they copy and paste the piggies info and don't re-write the bottom. I have never worked with them before, I have gotten my other rodents (gerbils, guinea pig) from the SPCA. Jenie |

| Re: Am I Just Being to Picky?? Compaired to some pets, like horses and birds, they do live a short life span. Little kids can have a guinea pig and have it die just before they go to college. (I realize that's a terrible thing for me to say, and kids shouldn't have them as pets in the first place, I realize this, I'm explaining how somepeople might think of it as that way...) The thing that concerns me is the "not require many years of commitment...", which sounds appealing to some people. I just hope they let the adopters know there will be plenty of commitment durring that pig's life, however many years it lasts. |
