Fur Promoting Site

I was surfing the net and came across a sickening site. Includes 'great reasons to wear fur'! What fun.

Yuck. Some people are idiots. 'It never goes out of style' wow. It already is starting to. I think this generation of kids/teens won't look twice at fur.

Re: Fur Promoting Site

true! I think people, well, most, in this generation, will look at someone wearing fur and think "ew look at that snoby animal - hating, woman" So the people that would have the nerve to wear a poor animals skin, would be discouraged because they don't want to be thought of that way.

People can be so gross, and mean.

Re: Fur Promoting Site

Lots of teens like the hot pink faux fur better anyway. Sadly, I do have a coat with a mink neckline. It was a hand-me-down. I haven't gotten rid of it because it is very warm, and getting rid of it won't help the animal any more. I've been called an Eskimo at school (in friendly jest) because I have naturally rosy cheeks, and when I have the hood up and tied around my chin, I do look quite Eskimo-ish.

Re: Fur Promoting Site

The fur trade is government regulated to ensure that endangered species are never used.
____

(that's from the site)
WELL DUH! It's illegal to use endangered animals' fur! Or to even kill them...

All I'm going to say is that fur is very warm, which is why some countries, especially very cold countries, like Russian or Greenland, still use them.

Re: Fur Promoting Site

If enough people tell them, they will. They are after all only going for what it popular. If wearing tin hats became the next big thing tomorrow, they would all be wearing them.

Silly sheep they are. I dance to my own tune!

Re: Fur Promoting Site

This is just so horrible to wear fur for fashion! I can understand the fur for warmth, but fashion? What is the world coming to;killing animals for no reason!

Re: Fur Promoting Site

That's how vain these people are...this is why I dont support Hollywood or celebrities. Selfish people - plain and simple! Take J. Lo for instance - she is a prime candidate of killing animals for no other reason than to promote her fashion line. OOOOOOOOOOOOOo - I'm burning right now!

Never? Geez, where have THEY been for the last twenty years? No one who is anyone wears fur, except a handful of celebrity brats with more money and attitude than sense. But what can you expect from people who "wear" chihuahuas as accessories?

Re: Fur Promoting Site

Bleag! Fur was ok back in the old 18 and 1900's but now...? No...

BTW: I was read a magazine and it had something for if you have a fur coat, you can donate it to an animal rescue foundation for surogant (sp?) mothers for wild baby animals!! Ill put up the number soon...

Re: Fur Promoting Site

For those of you thinking you can't do anything with that old fur and you don't feel like just getting rid of it, check out this web page: http://www.hsus.org/wildlife/fur_and..._wildlife.html

It returns furs to the wildlife to keep animal's dens warm for their young in rehabilitation centers.

Re: Fur Promoting Site

I've just done an essay on Fur in my English class and found out alot. Did you know that there is no law in the US to stop dogs and cats skin being brought into the country if they have a value of under $100? And no law stating that an item must be clearly labelled wether it is fake or real, and what animal it is. Dogs and Cats are regularly used for fur and labelled as rabit fur. It's sickening. And alot of low cost department stores are using real fur on things like childrens toys, cushion covers, and even pet toys!
