There is no problem getting one pig first. Just make sure you get another sow when you get number 2. I know some people prefer to get them at the same time which works too, but if pigs dont come around in your area often, you will be saving her. I think its better to save one and get another as soon as you can then to let the single one be euthanized because she was the only one there. Let us know if you get her! |

I went ahead and called the shelter with the female sow listed. I wanted to know if they still had her before I planned a trip over there. All the lady said was that they always had lots of guinea pigs. I will hopefully make it over to the shelter by sat. I fly home friday afternoon. |

Everyone makes mistakes. I believe even Teresa from Cavy Spirit started out with a pregnant female from a Pet Store, if I remember the "our story" section correctly. The important thing is that we learn from our mistakes and not repeat them. We're all human, and sadly, selfishness is a part of that. I don't think it's fair to gang up on someone for their past mistakes, especially when they've already said that they won't do it again. |

Some people here on CavyCages did buy from a petstore (like me) before they knew any better. Mistakes happen. We've all learned not to buy from one again, we've all learned to not support breeders or petstores. Pretty much what nonamian_girl said. |
