Talking Introducing... Mia!
Hey everyone! I brought home my first piggy, Mia, the day before yesterday. Here are some pictures of her. She lives in a 2x3 C&C cage, by herself right now but I'd like to get her a buddy in a few months.

I left her alone for a day but now I'm taking her out twice a day for awhile for lap time so she can get used to me. I have a question about "wheeks". When I pet her, she sometimes makes soft little wheeks and she sits pretty still. Is she scared or actually enjoying it? I've heard her make scared wheeks when I try to catch her, but I don't understand the language yet. Thanks for reading!

She is lurrvly! Those little wheeks, if I'm understanding correctly, are just conversational sounds. Are they little high pitched squeakes? Did you buy or adopt?

Hi & Congratulaltions!

What a cute little baby.

The soft wheeks are her way of telling you she is happy. You would know if she didn't like it. Guinea pigs are much more vocal about what they don't like than what they do.

Enjoy your new friend and keep us posted on her progress.

Dag is right, her colours are great! She is a cute little fuzz ball!

Those soft little wheeks are kinda like when a cat purrs - it's a good thing.

My Marilyn does that. She's a happy-to-be-loved piggie.

Do consider getting a sow buddy for Mia. She'll be even more burbly and happy.
