Hello all. I'm Tori, from South Carolina. I had a guinea pig several years back, but haven't had anymore since, just rabbits. But I have been entertaining the idea of possibly adopting a piggie in the near future and this definitely seemed like a good forum to join to learn! Also, I'm not aware of any shelters with guinea pigs nearby. So if anyone knows of one I'd love to hear about it. I think it would be great if I could volunteer!       |

Welcome. Pet adoption: Want a dog or cat? Adopt a pet on Petfinder and http://www.guinealynx.info/rescue_organizations.html are good places to start. |

Welcome to the forum! I learned so much about my piggys from this site. I definatly think you should consider getting piggies, they're such great animals. As for adoption places, I am not sure but yes, check Petfinder.com- you'll be supprised about what you can come up with. |

Hello and welcome, not sure where you are in SC, but I'm in NC near Charlotte, and there's a lady who runs a small rescue out of her home in Charlotte, don't know if that's too far for you? But the name is Steele Creek Cavy Corner....lmmcc@bellsouth.net (her email address), and I could get you her phone #'s if it's not too far for you? Oh, and there's also another member on this forum that adopted 3 females which ended up being pregnant and I don't think she's adopted them all out yet and she's looking for homes for them, she's in Marietta, SC, I'm sure she would meet you somewhere too. I got two 4 week old boars from her last week, they are abby's and adorable!!! I could get you her info if your interested, shoot me a PM. |

Wow, thank you for the nice welcomes! I am in Columbia, so not too, too far from Charlotte. I actually have family there. But I'm not quite ready to adopt. Still have lots of planning to do! But also thank you for the links! Very helpful. I definitely look forward to exploring the forum. |
