My two new pigs arrived today! They're the first boars I've had since I was a child. I had forgotten how big boars are!
Jeffrey, smooth coat the white boy(I suppose I would call him a White American Pig), is 4 years old and very unusual looking. He is solid white with black eyes! His ears are slightly gray but his nose and feet are pink. He looks like he was "trying to be a Himi"

. He is quite the brave pig.
Roger, who is three, is a bit more skittish, and likes to allow Jeffrey to explore things before he tries them. He is a white and red American.
They are both dripping with lice, and have an appointment for Revolution Monday. I had to cut their nails immediatly(literally five minutes after they got to my house) Their toenails were terrible. Poor Roger had one that had TWO curls in it. It made his little toe looked deformed.
They are quite happy at the moment in their 2x4 cage, with an addition made of a large storage bin(used for a kitchen)

Were they a bonded pair? How did you get them? May I see pics of how you attached your "kitchen"?

Adorable! Congrats! I'd also love to see how you added the kitchen. I'm always looking at the photos of different cages on here to get new ideas of how to make mine bigger and better

Thanks! I agree.....they are quite handsome!!!
I adopted them from a woman whos ad I came across on CL.(the usual story. She bought them for her kids, and they eventually got tired of them

) They are a happily bonded pair. According to their previous owner, they've been together for around three years. She was more concerned than a lot of people that they go to a good home. She insisted on meeting me, and seeing where they would live before she re-homed them to me.
The kitchen is attatched with nothing more than shoestrings! I drilled several holes in the bin and tied them to the grids. There is a "top" on the kitchen made of a baby crib sheet stretched over the top! Gives them a bit of privacy

(easy to make too. I also like to make use of things I already have laying around the house!) I'll upload pics to the gallery tomorrow.

So handsome - they remind me of my boys (who are crested rather than American but are similar to yours otherwise).

They are lovely looking piggies. I love white piggies, and Jeffrey is especially cute with his black eyes. I had a rat like that once, such a nice combination I think. I hope you are very happy with your new boys.
