Me and My Pig(s) OH my god what have I done? - Guinea Pig Cages, Care, Store, Photos of Guinea Pigs and More Forum!

thats what I asked myself staring at the two manic piggies boucing round my bedroom floor, squeaking insanely as I try to eat a salad sandwich.... nah really I love them, I had rats when I was little and recognished bumble footand the start of a cold, went to pets at home with my sister and in a cage two sad cramped guinea pigs.

I demanded to see the manager and inspected them on hamster pellets and badly bumblefooted I got bossy witch mode on, buying them reduced and then reporting the store to RSPCA I took them straight to vets.
That was back in june, now my ladies have the CC cage and I am piggie mad.

I being stuck in a small room and being asthmatic am probably not the best owner around, having never owned piggies before and having to swot up th night I bought them on three books hastily nabbed from the library.

I have spent my savings on these guys getting a out door run, converting the garden for a grass patch, growing organic veggies in thegreenhouse, getting toys timothy hay and hay cookies, not to mention tome primo guinea pig treats and going down my local field with thedog to collect greens on ym morning walk.

Honey and Ginger are now a healthy pair of 4 month olds, they were born on my birthday which is pretty awesome, I called the supplier to find otu their history ((alot of free time so I like to check things out)) the vet is please with their progresss and i am just honored to have such amazing babes.

I spend alot of my time caring for my grandparents, both are disabled when I am not helping them I am cleaning, walking the dog and then the pggies get hugs and fusses about 3 times a day since I stay at home all day.

Due to a porr immune system from meds taken for a brain tumour I have ((noncancerous but still nasty, have migraines ALOT)) I have to clean piggies out everyday and brush the dog wearing a mask, howevr I cannot live without my pet they help me cope.

I recently started a youtube accoutn of my piggie expliots in cage development starting from a terrible start, to finally getting to the awesome wonder cage I have now, I sure have learnt alot in four months, pippa is odd with the piggies and the piggies are odd with her, the onlyway I can understand it is she sees them as pupppies as she lays on ehr side and licks them, the pippes just trill and walk on, she is never alone with them no matter how much I love her.

Anyway wow how I have rambled on I am laura I am the slave of honey and ginger, I am totally new here and please.....be gentle.

I do have a question. You mentioned "primo guinea pig treats". What kind of treats are those? Most petstore treats are pure garbage and should not be fed at all.

Parsley and Cilantro make good alternative treats. My pigs like blueberries and apples.

Those look like earth worms or fake-halloween intestines next to the tan and white crested piggy, but i'm sure it's yarn, riiiight?

They are very cute!! Welcome to the forum! I am piggy crazy too. I want another one SO bad but my fiance is forbidding me to get any more (she has 2 and I have 2) but I might sneak one in somehow

I am allergic to them for sure but love them too much so I will just sneeze for the rest of my life.. or theirs at least.

I love them to bits I am so happy with them any tips you can give, just be tactful with the wording I am very sensitive about being accused of animal creulty, I get a bit upset because I do try really hard to do the best for them, I love my piggies so much and my doggie Pippa.

I grow all my own organic veggies, so they get primo treats of blue berrys on rare occasions a strawberry, parsley often and kale very rare cause of the vitamin A in it.

I re-did their cage but in fear have done a you tube video rather than post pictures cause pictures I cant get the whole view and wanted people to see me throwing out their old bad foods, yes the mineral bloock, the hard corn and the sweety stick is all GONE!
If anyone else has any other comments be tact fulll and delicate, I am not a well bunny and I am now bed ridden with exhustion from moving all this stuff around, so be nice and I will try and make it perfect.
