Hi all
I just realised I should have introduced Gizzy and myself on here. Well I am a South African whom it took 30 years to see her first Guinea Pig.
I was on vacation and in dire need of some cheering up when a friend of my brother's told me not to get a hamster (as that is where I was heading at the time) for he knew of a Guinea Pig that had "no future" and maybe I would be happy to take her.
That night I went to take a look at her and I fell in love

I do not think my life has ever been as amazing as it has been since I found Gizzy.
Gizzy was just over a month old and her siblings and other piggies where all destined to pre-booked clients but she was just along for the ride and that is how she ended up with "no future"
I went out and got an "animal travel cage" which is about 1.5m x 1.5m by 1m high and decked it out with hidey's made from old ice-cream bowls, a tent and a pigloo.
Gizzy roams free when I am at home and I just love waking up and spending my mornings with her. Like me she is a morning "person"! She is a very fussy eater but we are working on it
Gizzy and I will be moving soon and a brand-new cage is being installed into the new place and I am not sure if I am more excited about the new house or the new cage.
I will forever be thankful for this site as it has awakened something I didn't know was inside --- A Piggy Lover!!
Thank you for all the advice so far and I look forward to many MANY years of happy pigging ahead of me.
