Hi
Me and my piggies are new here . I have four piggies. Gabriella, Zack, Georgina and Truffles. Joined this forum to gain advice about them.
Gabriella was given to me as a pet, a year ago, for my 10 year old daughter and i fell completely in love with her. Zack came three months later when a workmate found that one of her "two females"[ later found that one was male] had given birth to three bubs. Went to see them hoping for a female friend for Gabriella only to find that they were all male. Fell in love with the smallest one anyway. We were so careful keeping our two apart until we got Zack neutered as we didn't want any mishaps.
Then one day i was in the local pet shop getting supplies and went to look in the guinea pig cage [as you always have to]. There was only one little piggy there all on her own. I know that this is a no no to genuine piggy lovers but i couldn't leave that shop without her. [sorry]. I totally fell head over heels about her.
It became apparent a couple of weeks later that she was pregnant and as she was just a baby herself i rushed straight down to the vets. With the vets good advice, and lots of tlc, Georgina gave birth to two healthy boys. I read everything i could find on the web about guinea births and took the boys out of their mums cage at 20 days as i could see that they were getting sexually active with their mum. My friend who is piggy savvy took one of the boys at six weeks and we kept Truffles.
Now here's the problem.. I THINK MUM IS PREGNANT AGAIN. Is it possible that one of her sons has impregnated her at less than three weeks old?. It is now 5 wks since the bubs were removed and she is showing all the signs of being preggers again. Drinking lots, eating lots, growing tummy, not wanting her sides touched. Help......
