http://www.guinealynx.info/record_book.html Guinea pig lynx does sell a record book, where you can track their weight and stuff. And you can download the pdf's here http://www.guinealynx.info/print.html Weight PDF http://www.guinealynx.info/weight.pdf Group Weight PDF http://www.guinealynx.info/group_weights.pdf I just use a piece of computer paper with a magnet on the fridge, put their names on the top, and record their weights and the dates in a columns. |

Last night I introduced tomatoes to Lucy, out of all the pigs I've cared for Lucy is the most open to try anything ![]() Since I've adopted her she now eats; Romaine Lettuce, Carrots, Tomatoes, Celery, and Oranges. I'm so proud of her. I'm getting ready to make her lunch, and I'm going to put in small pieces of tomato so she becomes more used to it, and gradually work her up to eating it in her lunch on Fridays. I've developed a weekly schedule of what she gets: Monday-Thursday she gets Romaine Lettuce,a carrot, and a piece of celery. Fridays she gets Romaine lettuce, and a piece of an orange, and soon a little bit of a tomatoes. Saturday and Sundays she gets Romaine lettuce, celery, and a carrot. I've spoiled her already at such a young age |

That's cute and I love the colors. If I can finally get my sewing area organized, I'm going to try to make some of those this weekend. |

When I have Lucy out of her cage and I let her snuggle in her cozy sak she does this thing where it seems that she is trying to roll over in the sak. She rubs her head against the fleece inside and then tries to roll over, it's kinda cute. I was just wondering if anyone else has a pig that does this? |

She is very cute! Have you seen the nutrition charts in the stickies section of the diet and nutrition forum yet? You should add about 1/8 of a bell pepper per day to make sure she gets a good amount of vitamin C. She could use more variety in her diet overall, so if she's eating what you're giving her, I would check out the charts and work on expanding it a bit. |

Yes I've seen the chart. I'm slowly introducing new stuff to her, because I've read if you introduce new foods too soon or all at once diarrhea can occur. So I'm trying to avoid that. So far I've tried Romaine Lettuce,Carrots, Celery, Bell peppers, oranges, tomatoes, strawberries, and today she tried a cucumber and gobbled it all up Next when I get back to the store I'm going to grab some Cilantro, and introduce that to her or maybe some Kale, but very little since I know Kale should be fed sparingly. |

Well my Pepsi/hay box failed =/. Lucy tips it over somehow gets her big butt inside of it and eats hay and poos in it as well. I like the tissue box idea I've got tons around the house, but does anyone have any ideas for a hay box that Lucy won't get inside and make messes? I don't have any more extra grids unfortunately to make a hanging hay rack, can anyone help me out? |

She did it! ![]() I bought one of thos litter pans made for small animals today, because Lucy seems to poo more than the average pig, and I placed it in the corner she goes to do her business and put some care fresh in it, and she's actually using it. I'm so proud of her... I hope this last! |

Well done, Lucy! My boys are pretty good at using their litter/kitchen box too. I only get maybe 3 or 4 pees a week on the fleece and that's always under hideys so i just put extra towels there. If only they could learn to wipe their feet on the way out of the litter area... |
