I have been looking at this site for the past 6 weeks getting inspiration on how to build my own cage and figured"what the heck, I might as well join Im on here so much." I currently have 2 awesome male piggies. Max is our first who is about 6 months old. Our other, Thumper, is about 4 months old. They both have had URI's too. The little one has one right now and we just purshace him from petco on 12/30/08! Other then having to give them medicine everyday(such a pain ahah) they are great to be around. My 5 year old son just loves them!

Yeah, pet store pigs are usually sick since they are poorly bred in poor conditions from pet mills.

Please adopt next time and save a life.

Welcome to the site. I have been here for almost two weeks now and I have found it SO incredibly helpful. Plus in my time of need I found a fantastic cage mate for my baby boy!!!! Feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions you don't really want to post a whole forum on. If I don't know the answer I have gotten really good at researching.

Welcome! I am sorry you have had to deal with so much illness, but the piggies got a good home, I can tell. As rabbit said, many petstore pigs are sold with some sort of problem. Good luck with both of your boys.

Welcome. Hope you continue to enjoy the site and learn tons! As some other people have said guinea pigs from pet stores are usually ill. Please adopt next time. I have one pet store pig from before I knew better. Your pigs sound sweet and we love pigtures.
