Please see the private messages I sent you. Also please don't buy pigs while shelter pigs die. There is already a huge overpopulation problem throughout the world. Breeders don't have the pigs' best interests at heart and you should not buy guinea pigs from breeders or petstores. |

You should get her a cage because she could get hurt by something. But don't but a pet store cage. You could try a c&c cage or even make your own. |

I'm from the Philippines too. Unfortunately, shelters here are limited to cats and dogs. It's sad when you think about what happens to piggys when their owners can't take care of them anymore. Anyways, I hope you find yours a suitable cage. Pet store cages are way too small, but I found stack and racks at True Value. I heard Ace Hardware carries them too. Hope that helps. |

Nobody rehome their piggies in Philipines? I have to ask: What they do to the piggies when they don't want them anymore? |

I was actually at a pet shop a few days ago looking for supplies, and one of the employees offered me her 2yr old piggy. Again, for a price. It was a female Peruvian housed with a male Abby in what looked like a hamster cage. They looked so sad. I would've taken her but I don't have the space for a girl. Babies are also out of the question. |

There is suppose to be an adoption fee when you rehome. That will guarantee a good home. Here usually is between $10 and $20 for the piggie(s). A snake owner looking for food for his pet won't buy a piggie for that price. But I am going to guess that if you say re-sale is a huge amount of money. I do understand that getting a piggie that wasn't keept in optimous conditions is hard for a person that is not familiarize with certain things, but sometimes you can rescue a piggie from the hands of an irresponsible owner. I won't encourage nobody to take in a piggie that they can't handle, but I am sure that there is got to be someone that will appreciate a good home to re-home his/her baby. |
