Star Introducing my rescue pig!

I rescued a male pig I found on Craigslist. The owner "no longer had time," and thought he was a she. A petstore pig. Never had hay or veggies before in his life.

My brother came up with his name, Gip: pig spelled backwards. We thought and thought of other names, but Gip just seemed to fit.

He is my sweetest pig of all. The loudest, as well. He's a people pig, and wheeks when I come in the room, runs up to wherever I am, and whistles when I leave. Loves to be cuddled and scratched under the chin. He loves to just talk. Truly a blessing that we have him.

The vet said he might be a Peruvian, and since he was being fed crap food (Hartz pellets, but mostly treats), his hair might have stopped growing, and will grow now that he's on a healthy diet.

Here he is, the gorgeous boy.

Re: Introducing my rescue pig!

Welcome, Gip! Good job to you for taking this beautiful boy. It's sad when people are like that. Gip sounds like he's been through what Sadie and Yoshi went through. I'm looking forward to hearing about Gip's progress.

Re: Introducing my rescue pig!

He is a cutie. He looks like an Abyruvian (Abysinnian/Peruvian mix) to me. His hair may grow some but if he's got Aby in him, it won't get as long as a regular Peruvians hair would be. I have an Abyruvian pig myself.

Re: Introducing my rescue pig!

Thank you everyone. I'll be sure to put more pictures soon.

Yeah, the vet said it might grow, but I think you're right, Ly, because he has some swirls on him. I guess we'll see!

Re: Introducing my rescue pig!

Two more pictures of him. With a carrot, of course. His favorite thing!

He's gotten fatter and his hair is fuller/longer.
