Star Me and my boys.

[FONT=Georgia]Hi everyone. I've been on the forum less than a month, have had my piggies for almost a week, and finally have uploaded photos. So here I am doing one of these introduction things.

My name's Allie and my two boars are Murphy (Abyssinian) and Jasper (silkie-American mix). Adopted them from a rescue three hours away, one way. I'm already in love.

Jasper, left; Murphy, right.

Jasper.

Fist time outside with my family.

Re: Me and my boys.

They are so adorable! Murphy is gorgeous and Jasper looks like my guinea Absynthe. I'm glad you listed what they are because I've been wondering what my guinea is...and I figure since she looks almost identical to Jasper, I'm guessing she's probably a silkie american mix as well. The only difference between the two is that her brown stripe is on her right side instead of the left like his .

Jasper also has some strands on his rump that look like a little tail. He also has long hairs that go from his head behind his ears. He's quite the sight.

I'd love to see some pictures of your girl, GuineaAddict!

Re: Me and my boys.

I actually technically have 4 guinea pigs, but only Absynthe is living with me right now. So here's some pictures for everyone and I don't mean to hijack your thread here, but if anyone knows what any of the breeds for them could be, I'd like to know. I believe I have a roan and I remember someone saying something about roan's being a bad type to have...but I can't remember why. Anybody care to explain?

Re: Me and my boys.

The black-and-white one is Abyssinian, from the looks of it. I think if they have the roan gene they're called lethal. I really have no clue, though, I don't know about that.

That black and brown one really does look like my Jasper! S/he is definitely American and maybe something else. I'm not sure what the first one is. It looks like a teddy, but aren't those only gray? I'm not sure.

That was probably NO help whatsoever. Sorry!

When I was looking at pictures of the different types I think she may be a teddy/american mix....is that possible? And I think your right about the whole roan lethal thing...I just can't remember exactly what I read...hmm going to have to go look it up. I think your right on my male though...he's definitely an American, but I think he might have silkie mixed in or...something like that cause his fur is silky like they were explaining for a silkie american (I think that was what it was called).

Roan

Alright, so I looked it up and finally got some clear answers on roan information and my piggie in the last picture that is white and brownish red. She is a roan, but I don't know if she's lethal. I didn't get to be around her long enough to really get to know her and I probably won't be getting her back for another month or two. But yes, for those who want actual examples, she is a roan.
