Introducing my piggies!

Hello,
I have two male guinea pigs, they are about 3-4 years old.
The first two years I had the pigs they lived together, I separated them when I noticed mites on the one pig. I treated both the pigs for mites but I was never able to reintroduce the pigs to each-other. I've attempted to reintroduce them but the behavior of the pigs frightens me that one or both of the pigs could get injured.

I have one cage that's too small (5 1/4 sq feet), so I try to alternate which pig is in the huge cage (16 sq feet). I also make sure that the pig that is in the small cage gets out in the big exercise pen often.

My pigs eat Oxbow Cavy Cuisine (I have an excellent local specialty pet store that will order in the 50 pound bags for me when needed, free shipping because they already sell oxbow products!).

They also get 2nd Cut Timothy Hay from a farm that uses no pesticides.

I know this is a guinea pig forum but I'd also like to introduce my other furry and not so furry friends.

I have two dogs:

Female, 2 year old Rottweiler/Australian Shepherd Mix
Male, 3 year old Boxer,Mastiff,Pit Mix

I also have a 50 gallon salt water fish tank, not much in it right now:

Percula clown
Yellow tailed damsel
Diadema Pseudochromis

In the past I've volunteered at a local dog shelter and a AZA accredited zoo (working with small animals and birds).


Of all the animals I've cared for I must say, piggies are one of the best!

I'd say the best, but I do like rabbits also.

I'm not italian, but I wanted something a bit creative.

I love to take photographs, I mainly take photographs of both domesticated and wild animals and plants.
