New Piggie in Town

Hello everyone! I'm new to this particuluar forum but not to forums in general. I also frequent another guinea pig forum. I live in Maryland and currently am looking for two adorable boys to adopt. So far I've located two or three shelters in my area that specifically cater to small mammals. I've also been lucky enough to locate exotic vets in my area so I'm well on my way to getting a vet for my future piggies.

I've owned pigs in the past but, upon reading information on them, realized I did a lot of things wrong. I feel extremely guilty and I'm hoping this time around will be completely different. I plan on constructing a 2x4 coroplast/cube cage that will sit about, roughly, 2 feet off of the ground. You could call it a C&C cage but i'm not ordering from C&C as they are rather pricey for me.

I joined the forums because a member here, SerpentineSylph, told me she was a member here. I'm friends with her in real life and thought it'd be neat to join this forum too.

So that's my short little story. I hope I make great friends and find valuable information here!

I hope you enjoy your stay here, as well! You're off to a great start with locating a vet before you even have the guinea pigs. Good luck with finding some guinea pigs from your local shelters and giving them a great life.

Re: New Piggie in Town

So far I really like everything i've read on this forum. I love the passion everyone has for rescuing poor little piggies in shelters. I've stopped buying from pet stores that sell pets completely. This forum has really changed my outlook on pet stores.

Oh and thanks for the welcome
