another newbie

Hi
I am new to guinea pigs.
I have 1 boy called yogi and another boy coming soon called booboo.
I have been reading loads from this site that has really helped me.
I also have changed from shavings to fleece and yogi has been much happier for this.
He has also settled on just 3 veg carrot,cucumber and celery
He is also very vocal.

Please read over our diet and nutrition section. He needs more than just those three veggies. Lettuce (all varieties but no iceburg) are a daily staple.

Welcome! I am glad you are finding all the information helpful. I find it helpful to! I learn something new everytime I am on here.

I agree with Ly when it comes to the fresh veggies. Make sure you get him to eat a daily helping of some sort of Lettuce (no iceberg). My piggies love romaine lettuce and the bags of Dole spring mix! Also, I can almost guarantee your piggy will love cilantro (fresh). My piggies can't get enough of it! And bell peppers are really good for them too!

i have tried him with lettuce and many other vegs
i am wading my way through the list on here.
i am hoping when booboo comes yogi will eat more veg because booboo eats all.

I do agree with the more veggies thing. It is like a diet of only three o rfour things for you. Would you like that very much? I know I would not. Give variety! Your pigs will thank you!
