| New here! Hey everyone! I'm Shayne. My sister, Ashley (Talla's Mommy) told me about this forum. I'm 18 years old and I live in West Virginia. I got my very first guinea pig for Christmas! I've had her since December 26th. Like my sister said, we did a lot of research of guinea pigs before actually getting them. I saw a lot of pictures, and I really wanted a black, brown, white frizzy fur pig. I was SO excited when I found one!! Her name is Dega Lee. Dega isn't very old. She's still pretty small compared to my sisters' pigs. She's kinda shy sometimes and seems a little unsure of some things. But after she gets used to them, she's fine. She LOVES to talk. She talks almost constantly when I have her out of the cage. She squeaks, purs, chatters her teeth. She's very vocal. She loves to sit on my shoulder and hide in my hair. I think it's a way of giving her mommy a hug.  She stays pretty calm most of the time. When she's playing with my sisters' pigs, she gets hyper. She's even popcorned A LOT. I'm glad we decided to get guinea pigs. They're such sweet little animals, and they're fun to be around. I love my little Dega. I wouldn't give her up for anything! It's nice to meet all of you, and hopefully I'll learn a lot more on here! |

| Re: New here! She lives by herself. We had her and Talla in the same cage, but Talla was really mean to her. She wouldn't let her eat or drink. My younger sister's pig, Addison, lives by herself in my sister's room. When we've had them together, Addison treated Dega the same way. We think it might be because Dega is so much smaller than the other two. I'm hoping when she gets bigger, they can live/play together better. I know the pigs need a friend to live with so they won't be lonely. I feel bad about that, but Dega gets A LOT of attention. She loves playing with mommy. Sometimes her and Talla can play together outside of the cages, but Talla still gets mean sometimes. |
