My Kid Butterscotch

Butterscotch is presently 2 1/2 years old. I got her when she was 6 months. I adopted her on April 12, 2005. Butterscotch was pre-named, but I kept her name because it fit her well. She is a long-haired, butterscotch colored guinea pig. Right now she is not in the best shape. Her skin is dry and so is her coat, she itches alot and has scabs. Saturday I took her to the vet and the vet gave her an Ivermectin and Benadryl injection. She also gave me A3/C leave-on conditioner. I will take her to the vet again in two weeks and they will check to see if she is getting any better. Sadly Butterscotch lives in a cage smaller than the minimum size. It is a 22"L x 16"W x 15 1/2"H. She gets unlimited hay. Also, before I came to this site I fed her wrongly because I gave her vitaim drops in her water, no fresh vegtables, and a little bit more than half a cup of pellets. Now I am slowly giving less pellets and giving more fresh veggies and for treats, fruit. Hopefully in 2008 I will make her a much bigger C&C cage! I will take some Christmas pigtures (I know it is kind of late, but I am not going to use them as Christmas cards to send out) and some normal pigtures and post them as soon as possible. So far she likes carrots, and lettuce. She does not like celery. And sometime this week I will give her a carrot and I will tell you if she likes it or not.
