Hello! I don't have my piggies yet, but I just wanted to introduce myself anyway. For my girlfriend's b-day I adopted her a rabbit, and built her a cage out of those Cubes from target. She is basically in love with her bunny almost as much as she is with me >_>. Anyway during one of our conversations she sort of slipped out on accident that she is getting me guinea pigs for christmas. I am very excited about this as I have wanted some fuzzy friends of my own for a long time. I will take pictures of my piggies and their cage as soon as I get them! Apparently she already has a cage design for them too. Nice to meet you all =).

Re: Hello! Make sure it is a C&C cage that she has. It is very important that pigs have their running space, also, be sure your pigs get daily hay, pellets, veggies and fresh water. Also hidies and a must. Good luck when you finally get them, maybe she will let you have them early? :P

Re: Hello! Welcome to the forum! Kudos to you for adopting your rabbit are you adopting the piggy? Oh and would it be possible for you two to adopt a pair of piggies? Cavies are herd animals and are happier in pairs or groups here's a good link on the subject. Oh yeah if the guinea pig(s) you adopt are under six months they need to have some extra calcium in their diet. You can do that by feeding them some calcium enriched veggies or you can give them alalfa hay. Some good links to figure out how to find veggies with more calcium are Ly's fruit and veggie chart. A good place to get hay from is KM km is an online hay site and their hay is in great. I know I'm link crazy but here's a link to a great page on finding a cavy savy vet you also might want to look around this site as well it's guinea lynx GL is mostly a medical guide but they have some great info on care too. Lastly is this link is a link to a page on links hehe. I hope you are enjoying this site as much as I am and if you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them. PS, I would love to see pigtures when you get your pig(s).
