Talking new editions

Hi my name is Ray. We bought a cavy in August for our daughter as a late b-day present and as it turns out she was prego! SURPRISE! Now we have four(dont know what sex they are yet b/c we haven't went to the vet yet(this week). They are very cute and we are looking forward to having many great years w/ them. Their names are:Princess(mother) Thumper(b/c it started scratching itself almost as soon as it came out and was making a thumping sound),Gizmo(b/c it has the same hair as Gizmo in the movie Gremlins),and Snowball(b/c it is all white)

My wife and i have three children(two girls and a boy) and they just love that now there are four of them to love

Don't forget to separate the male babies at 3 weeks. There is a great sexing guide and care info at Guinea Lynx :: A Medical and Care Guide for Your Guinea Pig

Re: new editions

Welcome to the forum!

Make sure to take note of the sticky threads on the top of each subforum they are full of info. Oh I'm going to give you some links that may help you out if you haven't seen them. First is a link to Kleenmama's hayloft it is a great site to get hay off of and from what I have heard it is absulutely amazing and cheap. Then is a link to a page of links that might help you out if you haven't seen them. Anyway I hope you are enjoying the forum and if you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. Oh cavies under six months should have alfalfa hay which has extra calcium in it which will help with making their bones nice and strong. Once the babies are over six months you should mix the timothy hay in with some alafa hay a few times a week.

ps. Pigtures are a must!
