Re: New here! And new to piggies! Nice set up but is that cedar bedding on the bottom? You may want to get coroplast or something to make a bottom as they will kick the bedding all over. Or look into fleece.

Re: New here! And new to piggies! Awesome cage if you don't want the hay to go out these are some tips that even i use Tips: 1.Use fleece and put cardboard under it so their little piggie feet don't get stuck in between the grids or use coroplast with fleece 2.Get a good size litter pan if you don't want your guinea pigs doing their stuff on the fleece

Re: New here! And new to piggies! Welcome to the forum! Make sure to take note of the sticky threads on the top of each subforum they are full of info. Oh I'm going to give you some links that may help you out if you haven't seen them. First is a link to Kleenmama's hayloft it is a great site to get hay off of and from what I have heard it is absulutely amazing and cheap. Then is a link to a page of links that might help you out if you haven't seen them. Anyway I hope you are enjoying the forum and if you have ant questions I will be happy to answer them. PS. Pigtures are a must and awesome cage just get rid of that bedding I saw your thread on bedding and you should try fleece like some members suggested Kleenmama's Hayloft http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/...ost-first.html

Re: New here! And new to piggies! Use a litter pan if you don't want your piggie to make a mess you can use shavings or carefresh in it, your piggie will learn whats the difference. I didn't have to tell me piggie where to do his stuff when i did this

Re: New here! And new to piggies! Welcome Newbie! Btw, love the cage! But, don't use the cedar/Pine Bedding! It will cause upper Respitory Problems for your piggies to be, definently look into fleece, I love it! If you put cardboard under it, it may absorb some pee and have to be replaced, The coroplast is what I like! How many piggies are you going to get, don't make the mistake I did by only buying one first, then buying the second after the first was almost a year old! best of luck! P.s. don't breed please!!!! muffynilla

Re: New here! And new to piggies! Definitely get a small litter pan and find a hayrack or improvise (check out the photos in the hay bin gallery) one. Place it right above the litter pan. My pigs tend to like to "go" wherever the hay is. So if it falls in the litter pan then at leat they are going in the right spot - most of the time. It looks pretty good. I definitely recommend trying fleece. It's so much easier to clean!
