Cool Hello!

I'm so happy I came across this website and forum in my guinea piggy research. It's been so helpful and a coveted blessing to be surrounded by other piggy lovers/owners.

My name is Irmatu, but feel free to call me Irma, Irmmy, and Matu.

I used to own two piggies a few years ago when I was in middle school. One was a regular light brown (I called it orange ) male with pink eyes named Buttons because he WAS 'cute as a button'. The other was another male, black and white, named Speedy because he was the fastest in a group at the pet store. We had them for quite a while until it came time to move and we surrendered them sadly to a well respected and local cavy rescue.

Now I've grown up quite a lot and live on my own in a comfortable apartment. Without my coveted companion canine, Jackie -- a Jack Russell/Beagle mix that loves to steal potato chip bags and cuddle close, I've felt rather lonely. Due to the high pet deposit for cats and dogs, she resides with my family while I attend college and until I can afford to bring her along. Until then, my mother recently brought up the idea of owning piggies again and I see an opportunity I couldn't turn down even if I tried. I hope to finish updating my cavy knowledge and receive help with preparing my home for two incoming piggies, and that's the basic background as to why I joined.

Oh.

Sorry if that was lengthy.
