Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Rupert! The abyssinian blue strawberry roan! He's a very special piggy to me. Rupert is very whiny, because I spoil him. He's also very stubborn! I've read that it's rare for guinea pigs to bite, but he does. He doesn't really do it out of agression. It's more out of curiousity. But very silly things seem to bother him, too. Such as when I try to pick up ANYTHING near him, he'll turn around to bite me! It's not a hard bite, but like he's warning me. He's very lazy, and because of this, i'm having trouble potty training him! He poops everywhere and usually pees wherever he wants despite the fact he has a litter box. He usually pees inside his ferret tunnel too, but never in his cozy car. He's a real joy, but i'd really appreciate some tips on potty training him! Thanks. |

I don't know that much about the gentics of guinea pig colors. I am more of a horse person when it comes to such things and in horses you'd either have the blue gene troan or the red gene roan (strawberry). I am really interested in seeing what blue strawberry roan means in a guinea pig. Is it possible to view a picture? |

Well, i'm just guessing he is a blue strawberry roan. When you've got white hairs mixed with black..it's blue and when you have white with red it's strawberry..so what if you have a piggy with black and white and red and white all mixed together? Lol. I'm guessing he's a blue strawberry! This is Rupert Chattering.jpg - Image - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting You can see his colors really well in that one. |

Thank you! I do have more. I take so many pictures of him! MessyPiggy.jpg - Image - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Those are messy piggy lips from cherry tomatos! He loves them! Snuggly.jpg - Image - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting And thats him snuggling in his cozy. For some reason he looks sad to me! People always tell me his eyes look watery. They kind of do, but they've always been that way, so I know it's not a problem Cutie.jpg - Image - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting And thats one of my favorites. It was when he was still wee little. |

LOL, the "messy piggy" one is priceless! Are you going to build a C & C cage for your little guy? He probably wants a friend too... |

Oh, I've had a C&C cage! Those pictures are pretty old. I got so tired of seeing him in that cage. I even gave it away. Now he has a lot of space and he's a lot happier. Even when he's being lazy. I'm not too sure about another guinea pig, though. Rupert just shows such strange behavior. I just know he'd be jealous of the other piggy and would probably end up bothering him. I cuddle with him lots. He LOVES napping with me on a chair. And my little brother and my mom always seem to watch him and talk to him. He really seems to like my little brother. |

That's great that he has a C & C cage already. I know I could never go back to using a pet store cage, they seem so tiny now. If he gets a lot of attention every day I guess I can understand keeping him alone. Personally I enjoy watching my piggies interact with one another, but I have all girls and just one neutered boy. I know pairing up boys can be a little more difficult. |
