My turn !

It's my turn to introduce my new piggie Her name is Snowflake and she's a beautifull 4 year old himalayen that is blind.
My Juliette was really bored and always weaking. This evening after I came in with Snowflake in the living room...no weaking from Juliette !
Looks like my little girl is very much interested.

Aww she is beautiful! I love her little crest. So far has having a blind cavy been harder than having a cavy with full sight? And did you introduce them or did Juliet sort of hear/smell her then? You really should have quarantined her if you didn't. She is gorgeous. ^^ Grats!

I am so glad you have a companion for Juliette, and Snowflake is beautiful! Lots of questions - where and when did you get her - have you/are you remembering to quarantine before introductions? There are a couple of folk here who have/have had blind pigs - it would be good if you could find out their special requirements, to help Snowflake all you can! I hope the vet visit goes well, and that when the time comes, your two girls get on like old friends!

Hi JarBax ! I got Snowflake yesterday from a lady who had a rescue for 5 years, Snowflake was her last piggie. She used to be a breeder and her daughter told her one day "Mom ! You can't breed when there is so many piggies out there !" And that how she started her recue. Now 400 piggies later she's taking a brake. I was introduced to her from a friend that has an non profit organisation for rabbits. Secours Lapins Québec Rabbit Rescue She came with me because I dont have a car. They are not together right now althought the lady at the rescue was saying that I could put them together. I'm just not confortable with that. I will look at what I can find about blind piggy because I'm not too sure about what to do, for expemple what kind of hidey house and how big to make my cage. So I have a vet visit to go to and research on blind cavies to do. Right now I'm just enjoying watching Snowflake munching her hay

Cute pig. I think senior pigs are the best. They are so laid back and nothing seems to phase them. Hope the two become the best of friends!

Update Snowflake is doing very well. She is beside my computer so I can watch over her every evening. Having two piggies so different makes me appreciate them so much. Snowflake with her handicap, she can never look at me, and when I walk to Juliette, she looks at me with her big dark eyes waiting to be picked up Snowflake moves around slowly and carefylly in her cage, Juliette just runs around so fast. You know what I mean
