Hi Everyone!

I wanted to drop in to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Steven, I live in Denver, CO. I have been partnered for seven years now. We have two piggies that we just adore. They are "Jackie" and "Linda". My partner named them after my Mom and my Aunt who are best friends and lots of fun. We were quite ignorant about cavies when we first got them about a month ago. We did the big "no no" and had them in a 55 gallon aquarium. We built a 2 story c & c cage yesterday. It took them about an hour to figure out the ramp but now they are running all over and up and down that ramp. The only cool thing that came out of the aquarium episode is that we only put the bedding in the new litter box and that's been the only place they are going potty! The rest of the cage has fleece. Picture coming soon!

Steven

Re: Hi Everyone!

Welcome - this forum/site is a GREAT resource for information. I don't know what I did for the 2 1/2 years I had my original guinea before I found this site! I have learned so much in the past month.

Re: Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the forums! I have three girls, your cage change is great! I'm sure they love being out of the aquarium into a larger C&C cage! I know I sure do want to build a 2 story C&C cage, so far we've only got a 2x3 one story. It upsets me because we don't meet standards now. :[ well welcome here :]

Re: Hi Everyone!

Thanks everyone for your greetings! I think I may have to add on to my new cage. I built the cage bigger than the standards listed here but I may be getting a new girl soon.

Reason: There is a really nice lady here in Denver, CO that runs Cavy Care Inc., a rescue shelter. She has found homes for 4000 cavies and is now going thru here second fight with cancer and is having a hard time taking care of them. She has 32 piggies that really need a home ASAP so we have been talking about it and will probably adopt another girl.

Thanks Again!

Steven
