Cool Meet Peanut and Flower

I was confused on whether to put this thread in Intros or the main board, since these PIGGIES are new to me and to you all, but I'm not LOL. So if this is in the wrong place please move it to the appropriate forum, mods

Photobucket has been being a PITA this morning or I would have had pigtures up already, but here are the new piggies, Peanut and Flower. We had Peanut's name already picked and ultimately decided on Flower for the girl because I'm not sure if you can tell it from the pics, but she really does look like a skunk and Flower was the little skunk in Bambi for those who have seen it. Zeta is still a pretty name but would have been more suited I guess if Zorro had actually been pregnant and given birth to a girl, then we'd have needed a corresponding name with Zorro, right?

Both girls are settling in nicely. They've had a wee bit of a weight fluxuation between what Michelle had recorded as their last weight and what we weighed them as this morning, but that could be the differences in our scale calibration and/or the amount the girls were moving at either time of weighing, so we're keeping a close eye on them. I know they are inputting and outputting though because while the veggies were not gone this morning when we got them out for a little lap time, you could plainly see where each piece had been nibbled on, and Flower actually went potty on ME while I was holding her, and the poos looked normal (sorry for graphic nature but I figured someone would ask). We're going to weigh them daily for a little while to make sure they are at least holding their own in weights, though I know they at this age won't gain as fast as Zorro and Butter have been at 3 months.

At any rate, here are the long awaited pigtures. Here's Peanut in her cuddle cup Michelle gave her (did you make this Michelle?). She seems to be most secure when being held in it for now.

And here's Flower, actually on my shoulder, she's a bit skittish still (hates it when I sniff, like trying to clear my nose) but seems to like lap time pretty much. At first glance it looks like her coat is really shiny in the pic, but what that is is the white streak she has running all the way around her belly and back.

They are just too cute!

This is the correct place to introduce new piggies you have to the forum members.

Re: Meet Peanut and Flower

They are beautiful! And no, I didn't make the cuddle cups, I can't even sew a straight line-I purchased them. It's funny how they are acting, here Flower was much more skittish and jumpy than Peanut; and boy can she move when decides to! It's funny during cuddle time if you watch them you can see them glance up at you, like they are trying to make up their mind about how they feel about you and then if they see you looking at them they quickly look away. I really think they will both calm down and be good cuddle pigs when they've had a chance to settle down and feel more comfortable.

As far as veggies go by day 2 here they were cleaning up so hopefully by tomorrow they'll be making happy plates

Re: Meet Peanut and Flower

Oh I forgot to tell you Michelle! Since Peanut and Flower are in quarrantine in a smaller cage, Zorro and Butterscotch have laid claim to that big tent looking thing you sent, while Peanut and Flower have the big giant purple pigloo. I woke up this morning to find both of them together in it asleep, so I guess it's a hit. Forgot to say thanks too for the KM pellet sample, they are a hit too! Are they the alfalfa or the timothy, I figured timothy since if I remember you don't have any baby piggies but figured I'd ask.

Re: Meet Peanut and Flower

Yes they are timothy. The smaller bag is the pellets that came with Flower and Peanut, not sure what brand they are. I figured you could mix the two to slowly get them used to KM's, so by the time you get your order they'll be switched over. Mine love the tent, too. Kathleen did tell you to put some towels or fleece in the bottom of it, didn't she? I don't think they are washable (). I know my pigs poo and pee everywhere-especially in their favorite sleeping places...
