You may not have had a chance to read the forum rules yet. Please do take the time to read over all of our Policies and Guidelines. We want you to get the maximum enjoyment and value from our forum. Proper posting is a firm requirement here and helps us keep a high standard of readability. We require posters to use proper capitalization, punctuation and avoid chat speak. We ask this in part because this is an International forum and we have many members that do not use English as a first language. Improper writing can be difficult for them to read.

Thank you very much for your attention to these details. We look forward to your continued participation.

Re: wat it is JwonbiggO

I'm kind of confused ...

Are you posting from your guinea pig's point of view? If so, that's cute, but not something that's typically done here, as this is a mainly adult-oriented forum.

When you say your pig "sees" his girlfriend from time to time, are you saying that they can simply see each other (literally) from across the room or are you saying that they are put together in the same cage/area (without any divider) from time to time?

If you are saying the latter, is your famale pig spayed? Or is your male pig neutered? If not, then please refer to this link: http://cavyspirit.com/breeding.htm. And please also note that this site is pro-rescue and anti-breeding. Breeding is HIGHLY frowned upon here.

Part of being pro-rescue means we also highly frown on pet store purchases. If you are ever in a position to add to your animal family, please consider adoption first.

Also, you don't need to post the same post twice just to make corrections; just try to apply correct punctuation, grammar, spelling, etc. from now.

Welcome to the forum; we look forward to your continued participation.

Re: wat it is JwonbiggO

Just kind of a Introduction from the guinea pigs eyes. I really see no harm in me writting like that. I wont continue just used that as a hello my name is kind of thing. When I say sees I mean vists but is not left alone. The female lifes at another house so its not frequent. I as a child had a terrible incounter with a sow eating her babies. So none of that thank you very much. So I will gladly support the pro-rescue and anti-breeding. Thank you for the useful link by the way. Sorry that the way we got our pig is frowned upon but atleast he is living a better life with us then in a store. To me that is pro-rescue. If we were to get more guinea pigs we would look into adoption as well. I thought id leave my first post as an example on what not to do.

Re: wat it is JwonbiggO

A lot of people on this forum, myself included, started out with pigs from pet stores. The important thing is that you learn how pet stores perpetuate the overpopulation problem, and adopt next time.

I'm glad you are not allowing your male and female pigs to physically visit each other. I've never heard of a sow eating her babies, though.

Please post some pictures of your pigs; we'd love to see them and your cage set up.
