| Pigless! Prepare me! Hey all! There is a possibility [after working it around the Other Half] that i will soon be taking on 2 piglets. Other halves mother is piggy mad and has just taken on a pregnant girlie from a home where the owner obviously didnt have a clue and i'm hoping i could take a couple on. I'm active in the rat fancy and have kept rats for 10 years [half my life! Go me!], so my ideas of welfare and attentiveness to animals is, i imagine, equal to all yours! But i want to be absolutely sure i'm preparing everything right, treating them as well as could be and generally spoiling them rotten! And so i am brought here! I'm stunned by the cage photos on here, and cant wait to have a go myself and make a nice layout for them! I'm hoping for a couple of chap pigs and i'm so intrigued by all the colours and varieties! Cant wait to get you know everyone and fill my head with ideas and knowledge. |

| Re: Pigless! Prepare me! Welcome to the group. for now, the best thing is to read read and read. Then come back and ask questions about things you didn't find or don't understand. Where are you from? We can help you locate materials for a super cage. If you look in the cages for other animals you will see some great rat cages as well. |

| Re: Pigless! Prepare me! We have many many UK members who can tell you where to get supplies and food etc. Back on the main forum page down a bit is a thread about where to get things in the UK. Don't let our cage fever overwhelm you at all. Start with a good basic proper size cage. I promise you the fever will take hold and you will go nuts soon enough. just get your feet wet with a basic cage. |

| Re: Pigless! Prepare me! That is superb advice. Don't try to get too fancy right at the beginning -- you'll only get frustrated. One of the nice things about C&C cages is that they can be expanded, reconfigured, and fancied-up quite easily, so do start with just a very basic setup. Then when you decide to get more elaborate (and you will  ), it's easy enough to redo, expand, decorate and add features.Welcome! |
