Talking **Waves hi and doles out piggy treats to everyone**

Hey folks! Folks call me conure. I'm a freelance artist in canada and I breed birds as a hobby. I've just recently bought my first cavys. I have a chocolate american female named 'Tribbles' and an absynian himilayan (??!!) boar named 'Spock'. I plan on neutering Spock in the next few weeks as he and Tribbles are to be room mates. I'm having a hoot thus far. They're both very skittish, which is to be expected. However Tribbles is starting to watch me when I feed the birds. She loves her strawberries and Tofu!

I'll post pictures when I can. I've got some serious cropping to do and new avatars to make. Too bad I can't use my bird avatars here. Ah well. It gives me an excuse to make new ones!

Welcome!

There's absolutely LOADS of good info on here, great news for new cavy owners! I'll try and point you in the direction of good diet for your piggies here http://www.cavycages.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11278 especially post 3. They need a good balanced diet of hay, pellets and lots of veggies. Tofu doesn't appear on the list!

It really is worth a good look around, though as an anti-breeding site http://www.cavycages.com/forum/showt...887#post218887
you'll not find discussions on your hobby.

However, you have come to the right place to give your new piggies the best possible care, look forward to seeing your new avatar, and would love to see some of your work too (I am a trained artist too).

Vanmpiric Conure - I removed the link in your profile. We do not allow links to breeder pages on this site.

Birds, like most other domestic animals, are overpopulated. Bird rescues are overflowing and we do not support breeding on this board.

I am very happy to see that you are going to be having your male GP neutered. I hope in the meantime your two GPs are seperated.

Welcome to Cavy Cages!

You mentioned she likes Tofu. Guinea pigs should not be given tofu. See this thread for many common misconceptions on guinea pig care: http://cavycages.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11278

At the top of the main introduction page is a Newbies Please Read section. At the very bottom is an attachment to print out about proper foods other than hay and pellets.

Welcome to the group. We are here to help you learn the best care for your guineas.
