Violet & Ivy

I lost one of my babies last week and I'll miss her very much, even though I didn't have her for a month. I will always remember Joon

Below are pictures of Violet and Ivy. I adopted them from a Vet in Pennsylvania who rescued them from being put to sleep. (to all those people who don't think they want to travel for a rescue, I drove about 2.5 hours round trip to get Violet and Ivy). When Violet came to the rescue, she was pregnant. Violet had three babies, 1 girl and 2 boys. The boys found a forever home pretty much right away. I found Violet on PetFinder.com and she was advertised as a single cavy. When I called about her, I found out she still had her daughter and they are quite bonded.

I have the new girls in a separate room from Mei until I take her to the Vet on Wednesday to make sure she didn't get anything that could make her sick from Joon. I will never, ever get a cavy from a pet store ever again. I believe Joon was sick when I got her.

I am glad that I made the decision to get Violet and Ivy. I hope in time they will learn to love Mei and me. Right now, they are pretty terrified. Violet had a very bad experience in her life and her fear is transferring to Ivy. I'm giving them a chance to get settled in. They are so sweet and I'll be glad when they let me hold them.

Aww, I'm so very sorry for the loss. That is truely an adorable pig. May he be forever in your heart.

(I don't know, but shouldn't this be in the "In memory of..." forum??)

No this should be here because it is an introduction of Violet and Ivy. I put Joon in that forum already. I was just explaining a little history.

I traveled about 2 1/2 hours round when I adopted Belle. She was well worth the drive! The two are beautiful-congratulations!

I'm sorry for your loss but I'm glad that Ivy and Violet have found a good home. I'd also like to commend you for separating until you get Mei in to the vet for a check-up. I hope she is fine. Keep us posted. And congrats on your new kids.

I'm just glad I found this site and I've been learning a whole lot and I appreciate everyone's help and support.

I'll definitely keep everyone update and I'll add more pigtures later.

I think you may be mistaken about my avatar. That's not Joon, that's Mei. I took Joon's picture out. It's okay though. Joon was all black with a white stripe down the middle of her head, like a skunk. This was Joon. I'll miss her.

I wanted to let everyone know that the vet said that Mei is healthy and she looks very good.

I'm still keeping the quarantine until July 24th, then they can all meet.
