Hi! I'm new!

[FONT=Comic Sans MS]I am so glad I found this sight. When we first decided to get guinea pigs I had no idea the care they required! I have built my first C&C cage and I am so happy with it. I know I will have some happy piggies. Now we are impatiently awaiting their arrival. We are expecting 2 girls and we will send pictures and information when they come. We are getting them July 23rd. Welcome to the forum. Glad to see that you're doing your research before you get your girls. Can I ask where they're coming from? Just curious. I didn't know if they're coming from a distance or if a friend had an accidental pregnancy or what.

You know I am not entirely sure where they came from! For all I know she may have inherited a pregnant sow! She takes in whatever they give her so that they don't get mistreated.
We didn't know at the times what ones she was going to pick so I don't know their history. She was going to go and pick 2 that she thought housed well together and set them aside for me.
I have had other pets from her in the past. She is actually my kindergarten teacher so I have known her nearly all my life and she has always been so amazing to animals. I am just happy to have some family pets again and know that I am giving a good home to them. I think they will be really happy here.

She only lives an hour or so away but we are waiting for my sons birthday and until we get back from the vacation we are taking right after to Tennessee. It's not fair to get them and then ship them off to be "cavysat" right away. All I know is this month can't go by soon enough. I want my piggies!

Ok, so you are getting them from a lady that rescues? And waiting til after vacation. Sound very reasonable. Just curious cause I wasn't sure who "she" was. Congrats. Do you have names?

We don't have names for them yet. We have toyed around with names based on their colour. My son wants a "yellow" pig so he can all it sunshine. I am not sure if she has any that colour or not. I think it will be one of those things where their names will come from their personality. I thought Timbit was cute..........but that's the Canadian in me!

Timbit would be a cute name! A yellow guinea pig! Never heard of one! Maybe a semi-golden one could be possible. Timbit and Sunshine,sounds cute! Good luck and welcome to the forum!

Yeah I think he means golden.....but to a 7 yr old it's just yellow! I think Timbit will depend on the colour we get. But I really like it!

You would not believe the dreams I have had over making the cage and making a cuddle cup and when the piggies get home. My husband thinks I am obsessed and he is probably right.

Things will be much better when they get here. It feels like that ninth month of pregnancy when all you want it to get the baby out and get it over with. I just pray that this goes by quickly!

I believe that it is Ly who has a really yellow pig in her Avatar. Real cutie!

I am not sure, but I think this colour is called "lemon".
