new piggies and C&C cage!

Hello!

My daughter and I adopted two baby piggies--Ruby and Jemima--last Saturday, and today we picked up our new C&C cage from Sue, and everyone is very happy! The piggies are running around exploring in their new home, and my daughter and I can't believe how nice the cage is. We're using fleece on top of towels and a waterproof crib pad, and so far it seems to be working well.

We had piggies several years ago but didn't know anything about how to keep them properly. Those were the days before the Internet, and info about how to keep guinea pigs was hard to find, outside of pet stores. This time around, we're doing everything we can to make our piggies' lives happy and healthy. I'll post pics of the babies and their cage when I have a chance.

This forum has been very helpful to me as I've been informing myself about how to take care of piggies. Thank you all for sharing so much useful information!

Ruby and Jemima are both girls and are now nine weeks old. They're both white, light brown and chocolate brown. Pictures to come, I promise! :_)

I wasn't able to see their photos, but they sound great. If I hadn't just adopted two babies last week, I might be interested! They sound like lovely piggies.

Re: new piggies and C&C cage!

Here are a couple of photos of Ruby (white blaze on face) and Jemima (dark face) I took this evening. They are 9 weeks old. I wish the pictures were less blurry, but I couldn't get a good closeup. At least you can see what their coloring is like (they're so pretty!).

Ruby is a spirited little girl, very adventurous and inquisitive. Jemima is quieter, more docile...she just sits still on your lap and quietly soaks up the petting, while Ruby is always looking around and squeaking the whole time she's on your lap. They're sisters, but they couldn't be more different. It's such fun getting to know them!
